

Isabel Tejera is a producer for CNN’s award-winning weekly foreign affairs program Fareed Zakaria GPS, based in New York. Prior to joining CNN, she wrote, produced, and directed content for VICE World News, CNBC, and the Environmental Justice Foundation.

Originally from Madrid, she is bilingual in English and Spanish, fluent in French, and proficient in Italian. Her reporting has spanned major global events, including irregular migration from West Africa to Spain, the 2020 and 2024 U.S. elections, NATO summits, the World Economic Forum, the ongoing war in Ukraine and conflict in Israel-Palestine, cartel violence in Mexico and Colombia, the rise of far-right extremism across Europe, and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Her work has taken her across three continents, where she has filmed undercover, conducted field reporting, and interviewed a wide range of individuals—from diplomats, prime ministers, and historians to frontline workers, migrants, and political activists. She thrives in high-pressure environments, drawing on deep research and strong editorial judgment to craft compelling narratives through scripting and video production.

She holds an M. Phil in International Relations from Wolfson College, University of Oxford and a B.A. in International Relations from the Watson Institute at Brown University, where her academic focus centered on security and political violence. Her postgraduate research explored U.S. narcotics policy in Mexico and Colombia, with a particular emphasis on inter-cartel conflict at the local level. A committed mentor to aspiring journalists through Brown University’s alumni network, she is passionate about fostering the next generation of storytellers.
